Becky, Kaiserin of Germany link

Wanda and others! This Becky. My German Chapters and Domfrontqueen in France are organizing a Paris Hoot for June 29-30. We plan to invite everyone to meet up Sat. morning at 11:30am in front of the Notre Dame (we get into the Eastern train station a few minutes before 11). That would leave time for the British sisters taking the early Eurostar from London at 7:31am (a bit later from Ebbsfleet and Ashford) to get into Paris Nord at 10:47 and grab a taxi or the Metro to make it there by 11:30. Sound OK?
I haven't heard from Domfrontqueen yet as to when would be a good time to meet in front of the Eiffel Tower Sat. afternoon. They get in at 2:00 and might want to go to their hotel first and drop off baggage. So 3:30 or 4:00 might be a good time.
My groups would probably take the hop-on-hop-off "batobus" boat from Notre Dame on the Seine. It runs every 20 min. from 10am to 9:30pm. One day costs €15 for all day, 2 days €18. It runs east along the Left bank (southern, St. Germaine side) around the 2 islands past Notre Dame, then goes west along the Right Bank (northern side) to the Eiffel Tower and back. Caution: DON'T!!! buy the batobus ticket online, as you can pay, but not print out your ticket and must travel all the way to Orsay museum to actually get your ticket. So just pay spontaneously at the booths found at each stopping place. You may decide at the last minute that you want to walk along the shore, anyway.
After the Eiffel Tower, we'll stroll along the Champs Elysee and get dinner, in whatever order.
For Sunday morning, we need a time to gather at the Louvre. Bummer!! I've just seen online that on Sundays, the earliest Eurostar leaving London St Pancras is at 12:45, arriving in Paris Nord at 3:47pm. Can anyone there in Britain check that out? (I entered Sun, June 23, since they don't have the schedule for the end of June yet.) That sort of messes up plans of those British who can only come on Sunday! Would flying or a ferry or the Chunnel be an option? (Might be a great road trip!)
So maybe, for those who have stayed in Paris overnight, we should plan to meet up Sun. morning in front of the Louvre. What would be a good time?
Afternoon: Sacre Coeur and Montmartre, and then the way home after a wonderful weekend together.
Keep reading these posts, as times are still a bit fluid.
Note: since this is a Hoot, not a Funvention, we won't organize hotels and restaurants for you, but you can find plenty of hotels online, and as for food, you won't starve in Paris!
It would be great to have a marvelous gathering in Paris! Becky
Btw. 3 Americans are scheduled to travel the 35-minute ride for an all-day Sunday trip to Versailles. LadyDi, do you three have times on when you're leaving Sunday morning, in case others want to join you?

I will be in the London area after my trek from the Channel to the North Sea. Would love to get together with a Red Hat group while there. I will be in London July 21 to July 25, 2015. I will begin in Lyme Regis on June 12, taking a day off from walking on June 22 in Avebury, another day off on July 2nd in Letchworth, again on July 11th in Castle Arc and finally one in Cromer on July 17th. Then I head to London to hang out for a couple days before returning to the States. 😀 Last time I was there walking the Coast to Coast Trail I met a lovely group of Red Hat Ladies. Looking forward to doing it again. Sue

I have found my way to your website because I was at the Woodside Garden centre near Jedburgh (Scottish Borders) a couple of weeks ago, where there was a group of ladies in red hats and purple outfits. I didn't have a chance to speak to any of them, but thought to myself, "they must be fans of Jenny Joseph!". I wonder which Chapter was visiting The Borders? It looks as thought you all have a great time.

I briefly spoke to a group of Red Hatters last Saturday at the Lord Mayor's Show (I was participating) & was interested to look you up as I know the poem well. Perhaps when I'm retired I could think about joining, what a lovely thing to do! I'll keep an eye on you until then!
